New Build Garden Design
This garden design in Kingswood, Surrey, took place at a newly built property where our client’s were seeking to maximise the potential of their landscape. This was a comprehensive project from the Taming Mother Nature team, complete with construction, planting and landscape maintenance.
The proposed garden design integrated modern and natural elements, to create a beautiful outdoor space that complemented the new property and the surrounding landscape.
Paving Extension And Retaining Walls
The layout of this garden design features an extension of the current paving. The current cast concrete paving was extended to seamlessly flow into the newly paved terrace, adding height and a contemporary appeal to the landscape.
The new terraces provide a gentle step down into the main garden. Each level of this garden is framed by clean, sharp lines to complement the contemporary style of the home and ensure an effective, modern design to the landscape.
The retaining walls of the terraces are clad in Z Clad, which is an elegant and durable material that adds texture and warmth to the landscape. This provides a striking contrast to the sleek concrete surfaces for a seamless design that ties multiple areas of interest together.
Soft Landscaping To Enhance Appeal
While a large portion of this garden design is focused on the hardscaping, additional landscaping was provided to soften the look and create a dynamic outdoor space.
Our team thoughtfully incorporated new planting beds around the perimeters of the garden. With a mix of evergreen hedging and seasonal plants, this garden will grow to be a private retreat that offers year-round interest.
For additional appeal, low-maintenance grasses and flowering plants were added to the landscape. These were chosen because of their low-maintenance nature, and blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
Finally, to finish this garden design, a freshly seeded lawn was set in place. When this grows into a lush, green lawn it will create a soft contrast to the structured paving and retaining walls to enhance the appeal of the space as a whole.
The overall effect is a sophisticated, yet organic garden, where contemporary materials harmonise perfectly with the natural surroundings.
